No. We don’t have a restaurant, bar, spa, gym, or rooftop (we like to be upfront about that). The good news? Some of Reykjavík’s best cafés, bakeries, and restaurants are literally steps away.
All rooms at Old Town are private rooms - no dorms and no bunk beds. We have options for solo travelers, couples, families, and groups of friends, with the largest rooms sleeping up to six.
No. All bathrooms are shared. They’re clean, functional, and regularly maintained - think old-school guesthouse style, just with modern plumbing. And plenty of geothermal water.
Yes - a few rooms offer a view of Hallgrímskirkja. Availability varies, so if a view matters to you, we recommend booking early.
No, we don’t have balconies. This is a heritage-protected building, and we like to keep its historic exterior exactly as it is.
Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, in every room. It works well for browsing, planning your trip, posting glacier photos on social media and staying connected with friends back home.
Not really. There’s no coworking space and rooms are on the smaller side, even though we have a shared lounge area. Luckily, Reykjavik is full of great cafés within a 2–5 minute walk if you need a proper work setup.
Iceland’s hot water is geothermal and naturally rich in sulphur. It comes straight from underground - warm, mineral-rich, and completely safe.It’s not the pipes. All hot water in Iceland smells like this.

Absolutely. We offer self check-in, so late arrivals are no problem and you don't need to let us know if you'll be arriving late. Just make sure your contact details are correct so you receive the instructions by email in advance.
We don’t operate a private shuttle, but airport buses, tours, and public transport stops are all within walking distance. Getting here from Keflavík Airport is easy.
We don’t have private parking. Street parking and nearby public parking options are available in the area, subject to city rules and fees.
The building is heritage protected and spread across four floors, with stairs and no elevator. If you have mobility needs, please contact us before booking and we’ll do our best to help.
No - but Reykjavík’s famous public pools and geothermal spas are nearby and easy to reach.
Yes. Our larger private rooms work well for families traveling together. Just note that bathrooms are shared and rooms are compact.In the shared lounge on the first floor we have a baby seat, toy blocks, playing cards, a chess board and coloring books & crayons.
We’re located dead center in 101 Reykjavík, right in the old town and close to the city’s point zero. Museums, nightlife, landmarks, transport, and top restaurants are all within walking distance.
